Notice // 通知:  New German Centre Shuttle Bus Stop

Due to the new location of the Zhangjiang metro station, the German Centre shuttle bus stop (Zu Chong Zhi Road) will be changed. Please note from the 26th Feb. 2010 onwards, the new shuttle bus station will be on Ke Yuan Road, just north of Zhu Chong Zhi road. The closest exit is Exit 2. Please refer to the map below for more details.

Station Goes Underground

The Metro operator, Shanghai Shentong Group, announced yesterday that the construction project and signal testing that converted the above-ground Zhangjiang High-Tech Park Station into an underground one has been finished.

The restructured Zhangjiang High-Tech Park Station will reopen tomorrow with two new stations, Jinke Road and Guanglan Road, extending the line farther east. The line is to be stretched as far as the Pudong International Airport by the end of March.
Service has been temporarily suspended for the project since February 14.

All aboard as trams return after 30 years

TRAMS in Pudong's Zhangjiang High-Tech Park began taking passengers. It's been 30 years since trams were last seen in the city.

A ticket costs 2 yuan and the Shanghai Public Transportation Card can be used. "The tram greatly improves the transportation facilities in the industrial park," said Chen Jianzhong, deputy director of the Pudong New Area Public Transport Co Ltd. A 10-kilometer route will link the Zhangjiang High-Tech Park Metro Station on Line 2, major industrial sites and residential communities in the hi-tech park. Existing bus routes in the park will remain for an initial period but they may be changed later.

The tram service runs from 5:45am to 11pm every day with an interval of 10 minutes in peak hours to 20 minutes off-peak. It can travel at up to 50 kilometers per hour and can carry up to 220 passengers. There are 15 stops with an average distance of 640 meters between them.

1001 Students

The German School Shanghai welcomed the 1000th and 1001st pupil last week. The school was founded in 1995 with 4 students in a villa in Hongqiao and has been growing continually in the 14 years since. It is the biggest school with a german curriculum abroad worldwide.

Deutsche Schule Shanghai PudongCampus: Kindergarten richtet Kleinkindgruppe und Plätze für Besuchskinder ein

Der Kindergarten der Deutschen Schule in Pudong richtet zum 1. September 2009 eine Kleinkindgruppe mit 12 Plätzen für Kinder im Alter von 2-3 Jahren ein. Anmeldungen sind jederzeit – und bereits drei Monate vor dem 2. Geburtstag der Kinder – möglich. Zurzeit stehen noch Plätze zur Verfügung.

Der PudongCampus wächst. Aber er wird auch für die ganz Kleinen so gemütlich wie möglich sein und gleichzeitig den hohen pädagogischen Anforderungen der Deutschen Schule Shanghai entsprechen. Die neue Kleinkindgruppe wird deshalb von Beginn an in das Gesamtkonzept von Kindergarten und Schule integriert. Zudem wurden das Spielmaterial und das Mobiliar für die neuen Kindergartenplätze komplett aus Deutschland importiert.

Um auch Kindern von Eltern Plätze anbieten zu können, die nur für kurze Zeit in Shanghai sind, werden künftig am PudongCampus auch Besuchskinder für die Dauer von bis zu drei Monaten angenommen. Die Betreuung erfolgt halbtags oder ganztags und wird tageweise abgerechnet.

Mit der neuen Kleinkindgruppe und den vier bereits eingerichteten altersgemischten Regelgruppen stehen am PudongCampus künftig 72 Kindergartenplätze zur Verfügung.

Chemical Leakage Incident in Zhang Jiang Hi-Tech Park

Yesterday there was a chemical leakage incident in Zhang Jiang Hi-Teck Park. Please find the article in today's newspaper (Oriental Morning Post) or here.

German Centre management paid high attention to it and kept close contact with the relevant authorities including the police, to ensure that there was no threat to the German Centre area and you as our tenants.

German Centre would inform all the tenants immediately and take every necessary precaution and measures if any similar or other emergencies would occur in the future.

昨日张江一园区发生化学品泄露事件，幸无人员伤亡。 相关报道请参见今日东方早报，或新浪网。

对于整个事件，德国中心自始至终保持密切关注，并与相关部门（包括警方）保持紧密联系，以确保一旦需要，可以及时采取必要措施，保障租户安全。
